I love the red background, it really makes the panda stand out in a way. Though his face seems to be a bit smudged or something compared to the red of the picture, it adds to the old Chinese/Asian type kind of feel.
But for some reason it just looks unfinished. Maybe you should have put a little bit more of the red background in there?
Also, maybe you could have added some more tan on the right side, so it resembled the left side more.
But other than that, very good job on this piece :heart:

I think this is really wonderful. I like the mix of Asian style (and subject) with little European details, like the filigree at the bottom. I don't know if that was intentional, but it's seamless, and I really think it adds depth. My favorite part is the gold half-circles, so that you look at his soft face. :+fav:
